ConnEct: Home Learning
ConnEct Blog
Welcome to our ConnEct blog, every month we will try and post news, events and interesting information happening with the programme
August 2011 by Clare Congrave. It’s been another busy month here at ConnEct. The project manger and I have been working hard enrolling new students for next academic year (2011 – 2012).
The college has just launched a new version of LearnZone. If you’ve been working through the summer (as many of our students do!) you’ll have hopefully noticed the changes.
There have been improvements to existing LearnZone features. Some of the benefits are:
- It’s quicker and simpler to upload files
- There are new and improved learning activities; quizzes, wikis, blogs and a chat room
- There are new ways to upload photos, videos and podcasts
- A cleaner more modern design
As always, we’ve been supporting our students during the cross-over period.
We’ve also been arranging a series of lessons using Elluminate/Blackboard Collaborate. This is the software we’ll using host our ‘virtual classroom’ lessons. This is hopefully going to improve the learning experience for all ConnEct students.
Looking forward to a successful year ahead!
July 2011 by Clare Congrave. The ConnEct team have been spending the month improving our current courses. The lessons for next year are going to be even more interactive – we’ve added plenty of extra quizzes and videos.
The new Kerboodle resources are almost ready and the three GCSE subjects we’re offering (Science, Maths & English) look great!
Finally, we’d also like to take this opportunity to say thanks for all the hard work this month from our students who are studying over the summer. It shows a great deal of dedication – it’s hard to study when the sun in shining!
