An estimated 69,000 businesses provide motor industry services as their main business, many of which are small businesses playing an important role in their local economy and community. An estimated 84 per cent of these businesses have less than ten employees.
Content
You will learn motor vehicle service and repair skills for jobs in a variety of areas, from garages and depots to organisations with fleets of vehicles. The motor industry sector is very important when it comes to the economy because it counts for a major part of the money generated by the UK.
Features/Benefits
During these qualifications you will receive constant guidance and training throughout which will involve hands on training from your workplace mentor that is allocated to you.
You will be taught all theory knowledge at college of which you will attend one day per week or on a two week block. You will also be allocated a personal assessor who will visit you in your place of work where they will develop and assess your practical skills.
Entry Requirements
A work placement.
Level 2 or GCSE C in Maths and English but if you have not achieved those levels we can offer you extra tuition.
Level 2 qualification in a relevant automotive qualification.
Progression Opportunities
After completing the Level 3 apprenticeship qualification you will be recognised in the industry as a fully qualified automotive technician.
There is always room for progression within the automotive sector; you could progress to Level 4 Diagnostic Technician or Level 4 Management.
