Lifelong Learning Programmes
How can we be of assistance?
Project preparation
As you are aware, one of the priority activities when choosing prospective partners is a preparatory visit. Let us make you welcome, show you the features that will make us your ideal partner and help you present a business case for using our facilities.
The bid writing phase of the project is an important one. The experience we have gained in developing projects means we are well placed to provide information and budget data for you to create a meaningful and effective bid to submit to your national agency. Our aim is to support you throughout the whole life of the project.
Our aim is to support you throughout the whole life of the project. We’re here to help!
Tailor-made programmes
Tailor-made programmes Our resource base gives us unique opportunities to design and deliver relevant and challenging projects for our EU partners and their trainees. From life experience at a thriving, multi-ethnic and multi-national educational establishment to cutting edge industrial experience, we can design projects to stretch and stimulate your participants.
The rich cultural heritage of the area also offers opportunities to enrich and extend the experience. There is much historical interest available locally, as well as the opportunity to take advantage of our excellent travel position to visit other great cities - London and Birmingham are both about an hour away.
English language tuition
As an important component of most projects, we offer high standards of language teaching. With the emphasis on preparing trainees to work effectively and be able to communicate in the workplace, our offering centres on Vocationally-Oriented Language Learning (VOLL) as an adjunct to work experience which forms the core of the project.
The ethos of our language course is Inductive Learning - learning to apply the rules of a language by using the language rather than by having the rules explained. Activities and games are frequently used to aid Inductive Learning.
Challenging work experience
The position of Loughborough at the heart of the East Midlands puts us in a triangle of Leicester, Derby and Nottingham. These combine to offer a expansive resource in terms of industry, commerce and professions.
Over time, we have built up excellent relationships with a wide variety of employers. These employers regard the work placements as valuable for their business, as it is for the participants. We value and maintain these relationships as they give us a wide range of activities and levels of work experience for our trainees.
Supporting and documenting the project
At each stage of the project we will keep a close watch on all aspects of performance to ensure we are meeting the objectives we have agreed.
Throughout the college, we have a complete mentoring and counselling service to support the individual. We remain closely in touch with the employer network to ensure that the participants are receiving valid work experience and delivering professional standards.
Each project is fully accountable and is summarised in a Final Report.
