Lifelong Learning Programmes

Pre-arrival information

For participants on a Lifelong learning Project, the first working day is the day of their college induction. This usually takes place at 9:30 on the first Monday of the project. Unless instructed otherwise, the participants should go to College Reception where they will be met and directed to where they should be.

Induction is a vital part of the project. Participants are:

  • Welcomed to Loughborough College and taken on a tour of the facilities

  • Enrolled on the College’s systems (generating a Student ID card, Resource Centre membership and College e-mail address)

  • Introduced to the elements of their project – their commitment and what they can expect from the College (and employers) including Health & Safety requirements. We also introduce the schedule they will follow and outline the evaluation procedure.

  • Finally, we take the participants on a quick tour of Loughborough itself.

Participants are expected to arrive at least one day before Induction. Usual arrangements are that they are met at their arrival point (airport or station) and taken to their accommodation.
