Staff Progression

When you start as a new member of staff at Loughborough College it will be the start of a new journey and as such we want to ensure that you are given the necessary information to equip you to start that journey.  You should have already received your Personal Learning Plan (PLP) form which should be discussed with your Team Leader or Manager on your first day here at the College.

There are various parts that make up the College’s induction process which are talked about in more detail on the PLP.  The College values its’ staff and the Colleges investment in training and development reflects this.  The College funds numerous training events including external and internal training.

The College also runs its own initial teacher training programmes, including:

Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector  (PTLLS)
Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector  (CTLLS)
Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector  (DTLLS)

It is essential that if you are a new member of teaching staff and you do not yet hold a teaching qualification that you sign up for one of the above programmes as soon as possible after starting with the College.  We also deliver a comprehensive development programme for teaching staff starting with a specific new teacher induction.  Speak to your Team Leader or Manager for further details.
