Edinburgh a 'Massive Success'

Keith Large has described his Edinburgh adventure “a massive success” with the influence of former TV cop Jeff Stewart putting Laughs from Leicestershire towards the top of the bill.
The College technician, who only began writing plays three years ago, says his company’s summer tour which included performances in Buxton, Cambridge and London before the legendary Edinburgh Fringe exceeded all expectations.
“I couldn’t have asked for more,” he said. “The plays attracted good reviews and we received fantastic publicity, largely as a result of Jeff’s return to the stage.
“The competition for exposure is unbelievable and there we were being publicised in a full-page feature in the Edinburgh Evening News and being highlighted on Scottish TV.”
Keith paid tribute to all the cast but believes Stewart, formerly Reg Hollis in ITV’s The Bill, was worth his weight in gold.
The Ticket Collector, one of three plays Keith took on tour, is now to be made into a short film - a project he hopes will take place at Loughborough’s Great Central Railway.
And Keith himself is promising there’s far more to come as he begins to develop a new writing project in November. “All I can say is that it will be something completely different but I’m already looking forward to working again in 2011 with some of our actresses who did so well in Edinburgh.”
