Higher Education Fees and Student Finance 2012/13


In 2012 there will be a new funding and fees system for Higher Education Courses in Britain, with some institutions allowed to charge up to £9000 per year for their courses. Loughborough College will be charging considerably less than this.

Part Time Higher Education Courses
Many students choose to study in ways which do not require full time attendance and study. We offer part time, distance learning, block release and blended learning modes of study.

Loughborough College, in common with all other institutions, is currently awaiting guidance from the Office of Fair Access on fee levels and access agreements for 2013/14. When this is available the College will set its full and part-time fees and these will be published on the College and UCAS websites.


Fee Payments and Financial Support
Students don't pay any tuition fees upfront at the point of entry. The costwill be covered by a government loan which you only start to repay once youhave left your course and are earning over £21,000.

Full time students may be entitled to a grant (which you don’t have to payback) of up to £3250 towards living costs such as food, accommodation andtravel.

From 2012, loans for tuition will be extended to eligible part timefirst-degree students who complete a minimum of 25% of the full time courseload per year.

The Government is also launching a £150 million National Scholarships Programmeto help students from lower income families. The College will be offeringscholarships under this scheme.
