Student Graduation Day

Students preparing for graduation
Graduation

Before the Ceremony
Before the ceremony starts, you will need to be gowned and have your photograph taken if you would like one. You should arrive an hour and a half before the ceremony for gowning in the Radmoor Centre, Sports Hall.

You will be asked to wait in the Sports Hall and line up as per the order of procession provided on the day.

The Day of the Ceremony
At the beginning of the ceremony guests will be asked to stand for the entrance procession. You should take your place in the reserved seating area, remaining in the procession order. A programme will be placed on each chair, which will show the order of events.

After the speeches you will be called by name onto the stage area to collect your certificate.

Once all the certificates and awards have been presented there may be a student reply. The ceremony then draws to a close and the guests will be asked to stand while the procession of new graduates leaves the hall. Guests will follow behind.

After the Ceremony
You and your guests are then welcome to relax and enjoy the refreshments provided. You are requested to return your robe to the Sports Hall area as soon as possible after the end of the ceremony.

Student Graduation Gowns
You will not be allowed to graduate without a gown. Please make sure that you arrive in plenty of time to robe. You will be fitted with your gown in the Radmoor Centre Sports Hall. You will need to wear a shirt or blouse that buttons down the front in order for the hood to be attached. Hairgrips may be required to keep the mortar board fixed in some cases. There will be assistants on hand to help you into your gown. Each hat, gown and hood will be labelled - these labels should not be removed.

It may be possible for you to keep your gown for longer than just the ceremony, but this must be arranged with the gown company.

Student Graduation Photographs
Official photographs will be taken before the ceremony begins. Photographic picture options are available through the gown hire company and can be pre ordered or paid for on the day.
