What is a Document Controller?
A Document controller is a niche job within the power industry and could lead to other specialisms within project support / project admin.
What will you be involved in as a Document Controller?
On projects we have hundreds of drawings being issued and each one could be revised so it is a "very important" part of the whole project delivery process that we offer the document control service. Some clients also have their own web based portals that are used for this.
Your role and responsibilities will include:
You must be competent with the use of MS Office products like word and excel and have very good attention to detail.
In addition to the document control job role there would be other office or project admin duties that would be required on an ad hoc basis and it could be possible that the appropriate candidate could develop into other areas within the business such as SHEQ or finance.
To meet an increasing workload and support the development and growth of the company, Kelvin Power. We have a permanent position for an Apprentice Document Controller working under the Lead Document Controller within their Leicester office.
Kelvin Power provides a wide range of engineering consultancy services on major infrastructure projects in the Energy Sector and have a 40 strong team of experienced multi-disciplinary engineers and technicians delivering solutions to projects across the UK and ROI.
Responsibilities: (full training and support given throughout your apprenticeship)
- Support technical projects and teams
- Receive, catalogue and store all copies of all technical drawings, reports and related information
- Allocate and control the document numbering system for the project work
- Setting up project filing systems
- Teaming up with other documentation groups
