Apprenticeship summary

A banking/cash handling role, involving promoting sales and helping customers with all Post Office products. A Customer Service Assistant will advise and process mail transactions, help customers with travel essentials (currency, travel insurance and travel money cards), and process all transactions related to our financial services. This includes savings accounts, bank deposits and withdrawals, personal insurances and telephony.

Although a member of The Wolds Post Office team, we are a successful part of the national brand and are governed by national data protection and anti-money laundering regulation. For both of these, detailed in branch training will be given. Financial compliance will be taught in accordance with FCA regulations to ensure an efficient and compliant service. This will run alongside training for customer service skills and marketing/sales techniques.

An area of our post office is dedicated to cards, stationery and giftware; as such, essential retail skills will be taught, including:

  • Merchandising
  • Ticketing
  • Advertising
  • Presentation
