Apprenticeship summary

Job Purpose:

Provision of technical service for the development, configuration, maintenance and support (including fault finding and resolution) of the Academy’s ICT and AV provision, including supporting the extended services facility to students and the community.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To provide ICT support services and operation of ICT facilities/video-conferencing, including the installation and maintenance of hardware and software relevant to the education sector
  • To provide a general trouble shooting service across the entire spectrum of ICT provision at first line, including remote support for community users in line with a Traded Services model
  • To be responsible for general network configuration, maintenance and management to ensure service continuity and application including supporting Easytrace cashless catering, Paxton Net2 door access, Meru wireless systems, Internet Filtering, Shoretel phone systems and other IT driven devices
  • To effectively contribute to the continued development of ICT across the Academy, whilst working in close liaison within a Traded Services model providing ICT support to the community
  • Enable the smooth operation of the IT support service help desk both internally and externally, to ensure the delivery of a high quality service which adheres to a Service Level Agreement and Key Performance Indicators
  • Support the ICT Resources Manager in the installation, maintenance and upgrading of all ICT equipment and systems within own ability, to ensure maximum availability of all ICT equipment at the Academy
  • Undertake repairs and maintenance of equipment to maximise its usage and minimise the need for replacement, thereby providing cost effective support
  • Ensure that all ICT equipment is security marked, asset tagged and secured safely to prevent theft
  • To provide technical administration and support for the Academy MIS system, Schoolcomms and Google Classroom as required
  • To provide staff/student training and support on systems and processes i.e. Impero, SIMS and Google Classroom
  • To actively support the ICT Resources Manager in ensuring an adequate supply of ICT consumables to maintain service delivery with minimum disruption
  • To be proactively involved in administration Portable Appliance Testing on a rolling programme throughout the Academy
  • Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post as defined, subject to the provision that any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job description

  • Driving licence and own transport would be beneficial

Working Week: Monday - Thursday 8:15am - 4:15pm, Fri 8:15am - 3:45pm. 52 weeks minus statutory holiday entitlements.
