Apprenticeship summary

Duties will include:

  • Assist in near miss, accident and incident investigations
  • Assist with admin updates for health, safety & environmental risk assessments and COSHH records
  • Assist with admin updates for safe systems of work/ procedures/policies/documents
  • Maintaining reference numbers for Logs: safety concerns, accidents, incidents and near miss information
  • Keeping track of expiry dates for site equipment and other items included on Log Register (excel Fleet)
  • Ensure final disposal listings document is updated to reflect current waste disposal locations
  • Issue reference for permits to work, scan and save on file
  • Assist with testing of emergency lighting and fire alarm at Boston Rd
  • Record fire evacuations at Boston Rd
  • Distribution and record the return of Company health & safety questionnaires
  • Assist with QSHE campaigns as required
  • Assist in projects as and when required
  • Assist where required in external regulatory body and ISO Audits
  • Ensuring noticeboards remain up-to-date
  • Taking minutes for QSHE meetings
  • Dealing with workwear & first aid stock levels
  • Assist with site audits as required

Bakers Waste Services Ltd are a leading waste management provider, operating a comprehensive fleet of over 50 vehicles including trade waste vehicles, Front End Loaders, skips, roll-on-offs, clearance services, confidential shredding and food recycling to over 5000 companies based in Leicestershire and the wider East Midlands.

Operations include multiple recycling facilities to offer our customers more environmentally friendly alternatives for the disposal of their waste in order to reduce waste to landfill with a large portion of residual waste going for waste to energy (WTE), refuse derived fuels (RDF) and micro biological treatments (MBT), with only a minimal amount of the waste we handle ending up in Landfill.

Bakers Waste is a family managed business that now employs 100 members of staff working from depots in Leicester and Northampton.

Apprenticeship Framework:Business Administrator
Weekly Wage: £146.25
Working Week: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, 30 minutes break, Annual holidays: 20 days plus bank holidays.
Apprenticeship duration: 18 months
Possible start date: 17-06-2019
