This course is tailored for qualified and experienced electricians who are already working in electrical installation. This course is the latest revision of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671). It is essential to be up-todate with the latest qualification in order to be deemed competent when looking to register for the ECS card.

Course Content

Wiring regulations courses are not designed to teach you every regulation in the book, instead the focus is on how to reference the latest regulations, as you would on the job.


  • Scope, object and fundamental principles
  • Definitions
  • Assessment of general characteristics
  • Protection for safety
  • Selection and erection of equipment
  • Inspection and testing
  • Special installations or locations
Currently this programme is offered as either a four day intensive programme refresher.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. As a rule, candidates should have knowledge of electrical installation and electrical science. All candidates must be aged 19 and over as at 31st August 2019.

*Courses will run subject to sufficient numbers. Places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.


  • 4 day intensive

The course is assessed by a two hour final exam.
