This Apprenticeship trains you to work in an accounts department, helping a business or organisation manage their money properly.
Every business involves financial activities, therefore Accounting Apprenticeships could involve working in a variety of organisations and job roles vary. The variety of roles makes this an attractive profession to enter.
The aim of this level is to enhance the skills developed in the Intermediate Apprenticeship or previous Level 2 qualification. You’ll cover more complex financial processes, including final accounts for sole traders and partnerships, reports and returns, and professional ethics.
You will learn how to:
- balance accounts
- process invoices and payments
- complete VAT returns
- help prepare financial statements and reports
- handle banking and petty cash
An accountancy apprenticeship gives you a professional qualification in accountancy while you are working and also provides recognition of the development of your communication and numeracy skills. These skills will help you to improve your career prospects and your salary.
Entry requirements of the framework are GCSE grade C in English and Maths, as well as initial English and Maths BKSB at Level 1. Apprentices will ideally have completed a Level 2 Accounting Apprenticeship.
Students can progress onto the Higher Apprenticeship in Accounting.
