A Level Photography encourages experimentation and the development of creative ideas. It's both an art form and a platform for expressing emotional and intellectual ideas about the world we live in. To study this course, you must have a strong interest in art and design.

Course Content

The course has a practical emphasis and is delivered through both workshop sessions and classroom study. You will gain the skills needed to complete your coursework and timed assignment, for which you are able to choose a subject matter that is of particular interest to you.

Features/Benefits

A large part of the course depends on photographic trips and assignments outside College and so, whilst studying A Level Photography, you will have the opportunity to visit galleries and art exhibitions, as well as take part in practical, photographic trips to various locations.

Entry Requirements

  • At least a grade 4 at GCSE in an art, or design-based subject.
  • All Loughborough Sixth Form College courses have minimum entry requirements of at least five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English Language and Maths.

Progression Opportunities

An A Level in Photography complements many Higher Education courses in art and design and many students choose this route on completion.

Careers in graphic design, illustration, and fashion are only a few examples of industries of where a Photography A Level would be beneficial.
