This Part-time programme of study builds on the skills gained at Level 2. You will learn the art of men’s hair cutting, and the art of cutting men’s facial hair. Whilst exploring current and emerging trends within the Barbering Industry.

Course Content

You will study towards the following units

  • Health and safety
  • Consultation
  • Cut men’s hair
  • Cut facial hair


This course also offers

  • Visits to national hair shows
  • Demonstrations and workshops from specialist Barbers
  • Opportunities for work experience (if you are already working in a barber shop this can be used as work experience)

Entry Requirements

  • A Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing, plus GCSE (or Functional Skills) English and Maths at grade C/4 (or Level 2).

Course Costs

Tuition fees are £500. This course is classed as Full Cost, so there are no fee remissions available regardless of individual circumstances.

You will also need to purchase a dolly head and barbering kit if you do not already have one. This can be purchased through the College as a kit at a cost.

Progression Opportunities

Upon completion of this course, you can further your skills by progressing on to additional short specialist courses, or by entering the Barbering industry, self-employment as a barber or session barber, assessor or trainer.
