This two year course combines both level 2 and level 3 into a full-time programme of study and provides an opportunity for learners to gain both workshop skills along with classroom study.
Successful learners will achieve both level 2 and level 3 diplomas in electrical installation which can lead to third year entry onto an electrical apprenticeship. Level 3 diplomas also carry enough UCAS points to continue onto higher education.
This course covers:
- Health & Safety
- Renewable energies
- Job Planning
- Electrical iInstallation Techniques
- Electrical Design
- Electrical Testing & Fault Finding; and
- Principles of Elelctrical Science.
As a full-time student, you will be put through CSCS card training and the Requirements for Electrical Installations IET Wiring Regulations (17th Edition) as part of your programme of study.

This two year course forms one major component on the journey to becoming a fully-skilled electrician as it is a similar programme of study to electrical apprentices. Many of our learners go on to secure apprenticeships as 3rd year entrants as they can demonstate to potential employers level 3 electrical skills and progression to being fully skilled in a shorter timeframe.
