The Intermediate Apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy has been designed to develop your skills to foundation level and employment as a Junior Beauty Therapist. The learner will learn job specific practical skills and underpinning knowledge both in the workplace as well as college one day per week. This course will then allow learners to progress into Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy.
The course will teach you both practical and theory in the workplace and college one day per week.
Subjects studied are:
- Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce the risk to health and safety
- Promote additional services or products to clients
- Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
- Provide facial skin care treatment
- Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and lashes
- Carry out waxing services
- Provide manicure, pedicure and make-up services
You will get experience whilst working and earning an income, and will acquire skills that are job specific. You will benefit through being fast tracked with an 8 week block prior to commencement with the employer, so that you will have practical skills prior to starting the apprenticeship. Our teaching staff will make sure that you have the right support to progress through the course. We will aim to ensure that the training fits personal requirements for both the learner and the employer.
There are no formal minimum entry requirements for this framework. If you don't have GCSE English and Maths, you will still be eligible to apply, provided you complete an initial BKSB assessment and achieve at leat Entry Level 3. If you have not achieved Maths and English at grade C/4, you will be required to take Functional Skills alongside your apprenticeship.
Once the intermediate apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy is completed learners can go onto:
- Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy
- Into employment as a junior beauty therapist or junior nail technician or other job roles within beauty related industries
