This Apprenticeship is for people already working or looking for employment in accommodation services; this could be in a hotel, student accommodation or residential home. The role is customer focused with a strong emphasis on creating a positive image. Tasks will include cleaning a range of areas, providing a linen service, effectively handing over shifts, using chemicals and equipment and working safely and effectively.
As a housekeeping team member at this level you will undertake a range of routine tasks in different work contexts. You should have some independence but are usually supervised.
The whole programme will take 12 months to achieve. You will be assessed in the workplace to show that you can work to the standards expected by employers in industry. Your actual qualification involves achieving a number of units. Each unit has a credit value and represents an aspect of the work you do. You will complete a portfolio and a number of technical certificates are achieved by assessing your knowledge and understanding by completing on-line questions.

at an Open Day
It's great to read about a college and what it has to offer but there's really no substitute for experiencing it at an Open Day.
At our Open Days, our expert staff are on hand to tell you about our courses and what careers they lead to.
They'll also guide you through our application process, explain the different kinds of support available, and talk to you about the huge variety of enrichment activities that you can be part of.
With opportunities to talk to our current students, as well as take part in tours of our campus and halls of residence, an Open Day really is the best way to get a feel for what it's like to be a Loughborough College student.
