This apprenticeship is for people already working or looking for employment in accommodation services; this could be in a hotel, student accommodation or residential home.

The role is customer focused with a strong emphasis on creating a positive image. As a housekeeping team member at this level, you will undertake a range of routine tasks in different work contexts. You should have some independence but will usually be supervised.

Course Content

  • Cleaning a range of areas
  • Providing a linen service
  • Effectively handing over shifts
  • Using chemicals and equipment
  • Working safely and effectively

The whole programme will take 12 months to achieve. You will be assessed in the workplace to show that you can work to the standards expected by employers in industry. Your actual qualification involves achieving a number of units. Each unit has a credit value and represents an aspect of the work you do. You will complete a portfolio and a number of technical certificates are achieved by assessing your knowledge and understanding by completing on-line questions.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements but an ability to work towards a Level 2 qualification.

Mode of Attendance:
The Apprenticeship course is part time to fit around your work commitments, you may be required to attend college on a day release or your tutor will visit you in the work place.

Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships available.

Before you can start an Apprenticeship, you need to be in employment. The course start dates are flexible to fit around your employer.
