The ILM Level 3 Certificate in Effective Management aims to give both new and experienced first line managers a wide range of skills to become more confident and effective in their roles by developing their management skills and knowledge.

Course Content

This 18 week course aims to develop a first line manager's skills by introducing effective management skills and assisting participants in gaining the basic knowledge required by a manager. You are required to achieve a total of 25 credits for the Level 3 Certificate which will be achieved through completing 4 written assignments and 2 presentations based on workplace tasks covering subjects such as:

  • Introduction to leadership
  • Developing leadership capability through action learning
  • Problem solving and effective decision making
  • Innovation and change management
  • Effective communication
  • Leading and motivating a team effectively
  • Using motivation to improve performance
  • Managing conflict

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this programme but learners must be in a position to meet the assessment demands (minimum Level 2 English), ideally using their workplace as a basis for assignments.
