Tourism in Leicestershire is a thriving industry, with visitors spending an estimated £941 million each year, visiting the county. The industry supports some 23,500 jobs in the region, so it is a great industry, particularly for young people to pursue.
The aim of this programme is to develop your knowledge and experience of travel and tourism both in terms of its theory and practice. The course gives you the opportunity to broaden your studies to cover specialist travel careers and will give you the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge which will prepare you for employment.

You will be taught through a series of workshops, guest speakers and visits. you will work in group, pairs and independently, contributing to seminars and presentations to demonstrate what you have learnt.
A variety of methods are used to assess your progress including examination, individual and group presentations, case studies, assignments, projects, work based assignments, developing learning resources, and display work. You will achieve a Pass, Merit or Distinction grade for each module according to how well you cover the learning outcomes specified.
The Cabin Crew qualification provides training and a better chance of gaining employment in this very exciting and growing industry . It will teach you everything you need to know about being a cabin crew member from meet and greet to emergency procedures .
Loughborough College Travel team have strong industry links including East Midlands Airport, and anyone who completes the course is guaranteed an interview with Servisair.
It shows the airline that you understand the role of the crew member and can already perform many of the duties involved. It provides an opportunity to gain skills, knowledge and understanding of the industry.

To gain entry on to this course, students will need 3 d’s to include either English or maths, or have successfully completed a level 2 qualification in travel and or aviation.
Progression opportunities include working at an airport or cabin crew if over 18 or studying an extended diploma in Travel and Tourism
