This level 3 Rockschool course will equip you with a set of music industry skills at a higher level. You will choose from one of four pathways: performance, technology, business or composition.

You will study modules tailored to your chosen pathway, preparing for further study or a career in the music industry. Assessments include performance, written work and presentations.

Our high-quality facilities will allow you to carry out your studies in a professional setting, giving you experience in using recording equipment, rehearsal spaces and industry-standard hardware and software.

  • Live Sound (Front of House)
  • Music Sequencing and Production
  • Radio Podcast Production
  • Music Rehearsal Skills
  • Live Music Performance
  • Practical Harmony Application (Chords and Progressions)
Year 2
  • Music Marketing
  • Listening to Music
  • Contextualising Music
  • Composing Music (Styles)
  • Improving Instrumental Musicianship
  • Studio Sound Mixing
  • Studio Sound Recording
  • Music Sequencing and Production (Media)

Assessment will be ongoing through assignments set throughout the year. You will be creating assignment evidence in written work, presentations etc. You will also be assessed in rehearsal and development, recording and performing. Your creative and investigative work throughout will be assessed

Features/Benefits

All units and assessments are Work Related Learning and have a strong focus on employability and skills development. All Creative Arts students will complete 20 hours of work experience alongside their course. Students will have the opportunity to engage with professionals and industry throughout their studies.

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements are 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at Grade 4 or above including English (and ideally Maths).

Progression Opportunities

Students who successfully complete this course can progress on to a university level qualification.
