Course Content

You will benefit from regular classes with a college tutor who will be on hand to provide guidance on progress and assessment. Regular discussion with classmates will help to reinforce key points while also providing the additional support and motivation that comes from being part of a group.

Study Method

Practice questions, downloadable lesson materials and interactive case studies help to enhance the learning experience further and learners should expect to spend around 5-6 hours studying independently online each week.

Assessment Methods

This course is assessed through computer-based exams and a synoptic assessment, which draws on and assesses knowledge and understanding from across the qualification.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English or equivalent (mature students may be exempt from this requirement).

Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting or equivalent.

Progression Opportunities

The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) are the world's largest professional body for qualified Accounting Technicians and people employed in a variety of accounting and financial roles. It is also a popular route to qualified chartered status. In fact it is sponsored by the main chartered bodies (ICAEW; CIMA; ICAS; CIPFA) who work with AAT to ensure that the course meets the necessary standards and thus gains valuable exemptions from these chartered bodies.

The skills and knowledge you will gain throughout this qualification will qualify you for roles including Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant and Bookkeeper. You will also be eligible for AAT Bookkeeper (AATQB) status, giving you the option to work as a freelance bookkeeper.
