Course Content

You will learn how to draft financial statements for limited companies, perform complex management accounting tasks and develop your own management skills.

You have the chance to focus your efforts on the areas of accounting most relevant to you. In addition to tuition fees, you will have to become a member of the AAT - fees apply.

You'll be assessed is two ways:

  • Computer based tests - marked automatically and a provisional result available immediately.
  • Computer based assessments - partially computer marked and partially human marked, results will be available within six weeks

The AAT offers courses that are highly practical and tailored to the needs of the workplace. Each accounting course is a separate qualification for which you receive a certificate. If you complete all stages then you can apply for full professional status, which would entitle you to put the letters MAAT after your name.

This course may be eligible for the new Advanced Learner Loan.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English or equivalent (mature students may be exempt from this requirement).

Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting or equivalent.

The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) are the world's largest professional body for qualified Accounting Technicians and people employed in a variety of accounting and financial roles.

It is also a popular route to qualified chartered status. In fact it is sponsored by the main chartered bodies (ICAEW; CIMA; ICAS; CIPFA) who work with AAT to ensure that the course meets the necessary standards and thus gains valuable exemptions from these chartered bodies.
