AAT Access (Level 1)

AAT Access Level 1 Course is aimed at learners with little or no related experience looking to change career or for those who wish to improve business confidence and knowledge of finance.

AAT Access is a short qualification that introduces you to fundamental business and financial skills required in accounting. It's a practical way to increase your employability, confidence and career prospects.

Course Content

This qualification in basic accounting provides you with a firm grounding in the basics of business communication and accountancy. There are four units;

  • Mathematics in accounting
  • Accounting in a professional environment
  • Essential accounting procedures
  • Creating business documents

You will be assessed on the practical skills you develop during the course through; 1 formal CBA (Computer Based Assessment) and computer-administered methods which include projects, reports and workplace evidence.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English or equivalent. Mature students may be exempt from this requirement.

Progression Opportunities

With the Level 1 AAT Certificate on your CV you would be a suitable candidate for the following roles:

  • Clerical Assistant - £15,000*
  • Junior Administrator - £15,000*
  • Cashier - £16,000*

Once you have completed this initial AAT qualification you can progress to the Level 2 AAT Accounting Diploma and then onto the Level 3 and Level 4 AAT Accounting Diplomas.
