AAT Diploma in Accounting (Level 3)

The AAT Level 3 Diploma builds on basic financial knowledge by teaching complex accounting tasks such as preparing final accounts for partnerships and sole traders, and maintaining cost accounting paperwork.

Flexibility within the programme allows completion alongside your existing role in financial services and will create opportunities for progression within your present position, or through further AAT qualification.

Course Content

This level introduces the preparation of final accounts for sole traders and partnerships. You will learn how to maintain cost accounting records and preparation of reports and returns.

You'll be assessed in two ways:

  • Computer based tests - marked automatically and a provisional result available immediately.
  • Computer based assessments - internal assessment via project work, reports and work place evidence.

Entry Requirements

It is prefered if you have previously completed an AAT Level 2 training course (although this is not a necessary requirement).

You will also need to be working in a relevant permanent job for at least 30 hours per week, or apply for Apprenticeship opportunities if you wish to take the AAT Apprentice pathway.

With the AAT Level 3 Diploma on your CV you can begin applying for the following roles, with the confidence that you have the right skills:

  • Accounts Supervisor - £28,000*
  • Accounts Officer - £20,000*
  • Accounts Clerk - £17,000*

Continued development through AAT qualifications will lead to higher level job opportunities, including managerial positions in finance, banking and accountancy with earning potential of up to £35,000* (Accounts Manager).

Once you have successfully completed this Level 3 Diploma you will be eligible to complete your AAT qualifications with the Level 4 Advanced Diploma. We also offer a Level 5 CIMA qualification
