AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting

Course Content

You'll learn basic costing principles, how to use manual and computerised accounting systems and how to work with the purchase, sales and general ledgers.

You'll be assessed is two ways:

Computer based tests - marked automatically and a provisional result available immediately.
Computer based assessments - internal assessment via project work, reports and work place evidence.

Flexibility within this course allows completion alongside an existing role in financial services and will create opportunities for progression within a present position, or through further AAT qualifications.

Entry Requirements

No previous accounting experience is necessary, but applicants must like working with numbers and be able to demonstrate the potential for developing good communication skills.

Progression Opportunities

With the Level 2 AAT Certificate on your CV you would be a suitable candidate for the following roles:

  • Bookkeeper - £25,000*
  • Accounts Assistant - £20,000*
  • Purchase Ledger Clerk - £18,000*

Continued development through AAT qualifications will lead to higher level job opportunities, including managerial positions in finance, banking and accounting with earning potential of up to £35,000* (Accounts Manager).

Once you have completed this initial AAT qualification you can progress to the Level 3 AAT Accounting Diploma and the Level 4 AAT Accounting Diploma.
