Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration (Level 3)

This Apprenticeship programme is designed for more experienced staff to provide progression and re-skilling routes for existing Administrators. Apprentices can work in areas such as:

  • Customer Support
  • Marketing
  • Project Management

Course Content

  • Certificate in Principles of Business Administration (Level 3)
  • NVQ Certificate in Business and Administration (Level 3)
  • Functional Skills Maths Level 2 (if required)
  • Functional Skills English Level 2 (if required)
  • Functional Skills ICTLevel 2 (if required)


Mandatory units include:

  • Communicate in a business environment
  • Principles of business communication and information
  • Principles of administration
  • Principles of business
  • Manage personal and professional development

In addition you will select from a wide range of optional units to tailor the Apprenticeship to the requirements of your company, such as:

  • Negotiate in a business environment
  • Produce minutes of meetings
  • Administer the recruitment and selection process
  • Bespoke Software
  • Manage a budget
  • Principles of leadership and management

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements of the framework are GCSE Grade D in Maths and English. This framework must match the apprentice’s job role. Initial English and Maths BKSB at Level 1. However, many employers require good (A*-C) GCSE passes in English and Maths in order to enter an Advanced Apprenticeship, and a Level 3 qualification (such as A Level or BTEC National) in order to start the Higher Apprenticeship.

Progression Opportunities

Apprentices will have the opportunity to progress to a Higher Apprenticeship and Degree in Business and Leadership.
