Advanced Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web & Telecoms Professionals (Level 3)

  • This apprenticeship is delivered predominantly within a classroom environment (usually on a day release basis) where the apprentice is able to access excellent resources to develop their practice.  Assessments of competence are completed within the employer’s premises.
  • The delivery team are vocationally expert and are able to share their knowledge and experience of excellent practice. 
  • The apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a dedicated Instructor/Trainer.  The Instructor/Trainer will liaise with the employer to ensure that the progress of the apprenticeship is maintained.  In addition, the apprentice will utilise the support tools within the electronic mapping and tracking tool that the College utilises

 

Course Content

The apprenticeship is made up of qualifications and learning that will provide apprentices with the skills and knowledge required to become competent in their chosen job role.

The framework includes a balance of content in technical, business and interpersonal areas, designed to ensure apprentices have an appropriate set of skills to operate in today’s job roles.

  • Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals (Level 3)
  • Certificate in ICT Systems and Principles (Level 3)
  • Functional Skills Maths (Level 2) (if required)
  • Functional Skills English (Level 2) (if required)
  • Functional Skills ICT (Level 2) (if required)

Entry Requirements

Academic entry requirements are 5 GCSE grade C or above including Maths and English with an Initial English and Maths BKSB at Level 2.

Alternatively entry via progression from a Level 2 Apprenticeship in a Business or IT related area.

Progression Opportunities

Apprentices will have the opportunity to progress to a Higher Apprenticeship in ICT
