Loughborough College supplies Apprentice training, Apprentice recruitment and staff development primarily to Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

    Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Standard Level 2

    The Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship supports the progression and development of people wishing to work as frontline staff who help adults with care and support needs to achieve their personal goals and live as independently and safely as possible, enabling them to have control and choice in their lives.

    The apprenticeship is made up of qualifications and learning that will provide apprentices with the skills and knowledge required to become competent in their chosen job role. The framework includes a balance of content in technical, caring and interpersonal areas, designed to ensure apprentices have an appropriate set of skills to operate in today’s care roles.

    The programme is delivered in the workplace, and evaluated through a combination of work-based assessments that enable the apprentice to complement skills that are learnt, developed and used within the workplace with the knowledge gained.

    Business Administration Intermediate Apprenticeship Level 2
    The Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship supports the progression and development of your aspiring Business Administrators. It can also provide the opportunity to recruit new talent and inject fresh skills and enterprise into your organisation. Apprentices will be trained within the context of your organisation, meaning apprentices contribute to business productivity, while developing their own skills and abilities to effectively develop, maintain and improve administration services and support functions. Our programme combines academic learning and on-the–job practical training with a strong focus on workplace performance, enabling apprentices to develop highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours to effectively support and engage with different parts of your organisation and interact with internal or external customers, with a focus on : adding value, contributing to the efficiency of your organisation, through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested.
    Children and Young People Workforce Intermediate Apprenticeship Level 2

    The Intermediate Apprenticeship in Children and Young People’s Workforce supports the progression and development of people wishing to work within a childcare setting. Introducing the apprentice to all the relevant, up-to-date government agenda within education, you will develop a solid understanding that will enable you to progress in this demanding, yet rewarding area.

    The apprenticeship is made up of qualifications and learning that will provide apprentices with the skills and knowledge required to become competent in their chosen job role. The framework includes a balance of content in technical, caring and interpersonal areas, designed to ensure apprentices have an appropriate set of skills to operate in today’s childcare job roles.

    The programme is delivered in the workplace (unless the apprentice is required to take Functional Skills), and evaluated through a combination of work-based assessments that enable the apprentice to complement skills that are learnt, developed and used within the workplace with the knowledge gained.

    Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard Level 2

     

    Hair Professional Apprenticeship Standard Level 2

    Hairdressers will be able to shampoo and condition, cut using a range of techniques, style and finish to create variety of looks, and colour and lighten hair for ladies and men. Barbers will be able to shampoo and condition, cut using barbering techniques, style and finish, cut facial hair into shape and provide shaving services for men.

    Hairdressers must be able to work with all hair types ranging from straight to very curly and wiry hair. They also need to be able to carry out consultations with clients, demonstrate professionalism, values, behaviours, communication skills and safe working practices associated with their role and be able to work without supervision to a high level of precision, with exceptional client care skills.

    The programme is delivered in the workplace with day release at the Hairdressing Academy. It is evaluated through a combination of work-based assessments that enable the apprentice to complement skills that are learnt, developed and used within the workplace with the knowledge gained.

    Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship Standard Level 2

    The Apprenticeship Standard Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship supports the progression and development of people wishing to work within a hospitality setting. A hospitality team member can work in a range of establishments including bars, restaurants, cafés, conference centres, banqueting venues, hotels or contract caterers. The role is very varied and although hospitality team members tend to specialise in an area, they have to be adaptable and ready to support team members across the business, for example during busy periods. Specialist areas in hospitality include food and beverage service, serving alcoholic beverages, barista, food preparation, housekeeping, concierge and guest services, reception, reservations and conference and banqueting. The most important part of the role is developing fantastic ‘hospitality’ skills and knowledge such as recognising customer needs, knowing how to match them to the products and services of the business and working as part of a team to ensure that every customer feels welcomed and looked after.

    Supply Chain Operative Apprenticeship Standard Level 2

    The Supply Chain Operator apprenticeship supports the progression and development of your aspiring warehouse and logistics operatives. It can also provide the opportunity to recruit new talent and inject fresh skills and enterprise into your organisation.

    Apprentices will be trained within the context of your organisation, meaning apprentices contribute to business productivity, while developing their own skills and abilities to effectively develop, maintain and improve administration services and support functions.

    Our programme combines academic learning and on-the–job practical training with a strong focus on workplace performance enabling apprentices to develop highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours to effectively support and engage with different parts of your organisation and interact with internal or external customers, with a focus on : adding value, contributing to the efficiency of your organisation, through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested.

    Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship Standard Level 2

  • Level 3
    Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

    An Assistant Accountant provides support to internal and external customers and will work predominately either as an assistant accountant within practice or alternatively within the finance function of an organisation. Part of their role will involve assisting in the day to day financial activities such as data entry to month end management accounts and/or year-end financial statements. In addition the Assistant Accountant may find themselves involved in regulatory financial requirements such as the completion of VAT returns or assisting in the preparation of tax computations.

    Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

    Apprenticeship Standard Business Administrator supports the progression and development of your aspiring Business Administrators. It can also provide the opportunity to recruit new talent and inject fresh skills and enterprise into your organisation.

     

    Apprentices will be trained within the context of your organisation, meaning apprentices contribute to business productivity, while developing their own skills and abilities to effectively develop, maintain and improve administration services and support functions.

    Chef de Partie Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

    The Apprenticeship Standard Chef de Partie supports the progression and development of people wishing to work in a specific section of a kitchen.

    This type of chef usually manages a small team of workers, which they must keep organised so that dishes go out on time and the work area remains clean and orderly. However, in smaller kitchens a Chef De Partie may work independently as the only person in their section. Also known as a station or section chef, the Chef De Partie reports to the senior chef and has a very important role in any kitchen.

    The programme is delivered in the workplace, and evaluated through a combination of work-based assessments that enable the apprentice to complement skills that are learnt, developed and used within the workplace with the knowledge gained, prior to a final assessment judged by an independent party. The period of learning, development and continuous assessment is managed by the employer, with the service of Loughborough College. Although learning, development and on-programme assessment is flexible and the process is not prescribed.

    Early Years Educator Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3

    The Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship supports the continued progression and development of people wishing to work within a childcare setting. Understanding government legislation in relation to the Early Years Framework including Safeguarding and Welfare, play and development and Health and Well-being, you will be introduced to all the relevant, up-to-date government agenda within education, you will develop a solid understanding that will enable you to progress in this demanding, yet rewarding area.

    The apprenticeship is made up of qualifications and learning that will provide apprentices with the skills and knowledge required to become competent in their chosen job role. The framework includes a balance of content in technical, caring and interpersonal areas, designed to ensure apprentices have an appropriate set of skills to operate in today’s childcare job roles.

    The programme is delivered in the workplace, and evaluated through a combination of work-based assessments that enable the apprentice to complement skills that are learnt, developed and used within the workplace with the knowledge gained.

    Engineering Technical Support Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3

    Candidates work in engineering, using computer aided design (CAD) systems to draw overall designs or detailed technical drawings. They normally work in a team with other draughtspersons and engineering designers with each of them working on part of the project.

    Fabrication and Welding Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3

    This apprenticeship is designed to cover the skills and knowledge in one or more of a wide variety of activities and offer maximum flexibility to meet the needs apprentices engaged in Fabrication and Welding. This Engineering Apprenticeship offers training in practical hand skills and the safe operation of hand and machine tools to produce components from sheet metal, fabricating and welding. Training could include producing mechanical drawings using computer aided design (CAD).

    Hairdressing Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3

    The Advanced Apprenticeship Hairdressing is made up of qualifications and learning that will provide apprentices with the skills and knowledge required to become competent in their chosen job role. The framework includes a balance of content in technical, business and interpersonal areas, designed to ensure apprentices have an appropriate set of skills to operate in today’s job roles.

    The programme is delivered in the workplace with day release at the Hairdressing Academy. If the apprentice is required to take Functional Skills, these will be held on the same day. It is evaluated through a combination of work-based assessments that enable the apprentice to complement skills that are learnt, developed and used within the workplace with the knowledge gained.

    Hospitality Supervisor Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

    The Apprenticeship Standard Hospitality Supervisor supports the progression and development of people wishing to work within a hospitality setting. They provide vital support to management teams and are capable of independently supervising hospitality services and running shifts. They typically work under pressure delivering fantastic customer service and motivating a team is essential to their role. The majority of supervisors’ skills and knowledge are the same but supervisors may specialise in specific functions or work across a variety of functions, which reflect the multi-functional nature of the industry.

    Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

    An Infrastructure Technician provides support to internal and external customers, helping them to be productive when using technology to do their own jobs, by using tools to problem solve and trouble shoot non-routine problems. The Infrastructure Technician sets people up on systems and provides support when they need it, rectifying issues to maintain the organisations productivity.

    Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

    Laboratory technicians work in a wide range of organisations, including but not exclusively, chemical, primary and secondary pharmaceutical, biotechnology, formulated products, nuclear companies; and analytical science services.

    A laboratory technician may carry out both routine and one-off laboratory testing and perform a variety of technical support functions across the organisation. In any context working safety and ethically is paramount and many companies operate under highly regulated conditions because of the need to control the quality and safety of products, for example medicines. Laboratory technicians are expected to work both individually and as part of a laboratory team. They are able to work with minimum supervision, taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the work that is undertaken. They are proactive in finding solutions to problems and identifying areas for improving the business.

    Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

    The Apprenticeship Standard Lead Adult Care Worker supports the progression and development of people wishing to work as frontline staff who help adults with care and support needs to achieve their personal goals and live as independently and safely as possible, enabling them to have control and choice in their lives. In addition, Lead Adult Care Workers have responsibility for providing supervision, frontline leadership, guidance and direction for others, or working autonomously, exercising judgement and accountability.

    The apprenticeship is made up of qualifications and learning that will provide apprentices with the skills and knowledge required to become competent in their chosen job role. The course includes a balance of content in technical, caring and interpersonal areas, designed to ensure apprentices have an appropriate set of skills to operate in today’s care roles. As a Lead Adult Care Worker you will make a positive difference to someone’s life when they are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional or intellectual challenges. You will be expected to exercise judgement and take appropriate action to support individuals to maintain their independence, dignity and control. By providing leadership, guidance and direction at the frontline of care delivery you will be instrumental in improving the health and wellbeing of those receiving care and support. Lead Adult Care Workers will in some circumstances have delegated responsibility for the standard of care provided and may supervise the work of other care workers. This exercising of autonomy and accountability means leading and supporting others to comply with expected standards and behaviours.

    Mechanical Manufacture Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship level 3

    The designated technical certificates underpin the knowledge elements of the competence qualification in this pathway. The knowledge qualifications deliver essential underpinning knowledge which supports the fundamental scientific and mathematical principles to equip apprentices with the understanding required to operate effectively and efficiently at craft and technician level within this sub-sector.

    Team Leader / Supervisor Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

    A team leader/supervisor is a first line management role, with operational/project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. They provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same whatever the role.

    Key responsibilities are likely to include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships internally and externally.

    Our program is aligned to the CMI Level 3 Diploma in Management and Leadership and combines academic learning and on-the–job practical training with a strong focus on workplace performance.

  • Level 4
    Professional Accounting/Taxation Technician Apprenticeship Standard Level 4

    Individuals in the role of a Professional Accounting/Tax Technician will have responsibility for creating, and / or verifying and reviewing, accurate and timely financial information within the organisation in which they are employed or on behalf of another organisation. This will be performed in order to meet relevant ethical, professional and legal standards, and will utilise the individual’s knowledge of the business systems and processes, as well as standard accounting and tax practices. This role may exist in an accounting practice, a professional services company, HMRC or the accounting function of a business or other organisation.

  • Level 5
    Care Leadership and Management Higher Apprenticeship Level 5

    The Care Leadership and Management Apprenticeship will enable you to develop your current skills and experience in areas including professional development, equality and diversity, and policies, procedures and practices to provide high quality care for your service users. You will also be keen to advance to the next level and become a supervisor or manager in the care environment.

    The apprenticeship is made up of qualifications and learning that will provide apprentices with the skills and knowledge required to become competent in their chosen job role. The course includes a balance of content in technical, caring and interpersonal areas, designed to ensure apprentices have an appropriate set of skills to operate in today’s care management roles and will allow you to develop your skill sets in either an adult residential manager, adults non-residential manager or adults advanced practitioner role.

    Operations / Departmental Manager Apprenticeship Standard Level 5
    The Level 5 Operational / Departmental Manager Apprenticeship supports the progression and development of your aspiring leaders and mangers. It can also provide the opportunity to recruit new talent and inject fresh skills and enterprise into your organisation. Apprentices will be trained within the context of your organisation, meaning apprentices contribute to business productivity, while developing their own skills and abilities to lead, manage and inspire to drive better results, as well as using core management techniques to provide practical leadership and operational management skills. Our program is aligned to the CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership and combines academic learning and on-the–job practical training with a strong focus on workplace performance.
  • Level 6
    Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship Standard Level 6

    A Chartered Manager is someone who can take responsibility for people, projects, operations and/or services to deliver long term organisational success, with the professional recognition of their ability to deliver impact, behave ethically and demonstrate their commitment to continual learning and development.

    With the ever-changing environment organisations are increasingly faced with, it is becoming more important than ever that firms and individual employees have the management and leadership capabilities to adapt effectively to changing, and sometimes adverse scenarios. The modules on the course will support participants to build their leadership and management capabilities, whilst allowing them to apply management theory in practice; bringing back tangible benefits to the organisation including leading teams, managing risk and change, and effectively managing finances.
