Loughborough College supplies Apprentice training, Apprentice recruitment and staff development primarily to Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

Working together with you enables us to ensure that recruiting an apprentice into your workforce is a simple and issue-free process. Everything is taken care of from advertising the vacancy to conducting initial interviews, ensuring that only the best candidates reach you and your business.

  • Level 2
    Intermediate Apprenticeship AAT in Accounting (Level 2)
    • This apprenticeship is delivered predominantly within a classroom environment (usually on a day release basis) where the apprentice is able to access excellent resources to develop their practice. 
    • The delivery team are vocationally expert and are able to share their knowledge and experience of excellent accountancy practice. 
    • The apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a dedicated Instructor/Trainer.  The Instructor/Trainer will liaise with the employer to ensure that the progress of the apprenticeship is maintained.  In addition, the apprentice will utilise the support tools within the electronic mapping and tracking tool that the College utilises
    Intermediate Apprenticeship in Babering (Level 2)
    • This apprenticeship is delivered initially within the College in one of the well-equipped salons (usually on a day release basis) where the apprentice is able to access excellent resources to develop their practice.  Assessments of competence are completed within the employer’s premises.
    • The delivery team are vocationally expert and are able to share their knowledge and experience of excellent practice.  Further specialist training by external experts is incorporated into the delivery to ensure best practice.
    • The apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a dedicated Instructor/Trainer.  The Instructor/Trainer will liaise with the employer to ensure that the progress of the apprenticeship is maintained.  In addition, the apprentice will utilise the support tools within the electronic mapping and tracking tool that the College utilises
    Intermediate Apprenticeship in Business Administration (Level 2)

    This Apprenticeship programme is designed for new entrants to a role in the Business and Administration sector and to provide progression and re-skilling routes for existing Administrators. Apprentices can work in areas such as:

    • Office Administration
    • Customer Support
    • Marketing
    • Project Management
    Intermediate Apprenticeship in Childcare (Level 2)

    This Apprenticeship is for people who work with children from birth to 16-year- olds (and their families) in settings or services whose main purpose is children's care, learning and development. Workers in this area make sure children are looked after, kept active, happy and nourished. They also help children develop social and practical skills.

    Intermediate Apprenticeship in Customer Service (Level 2)
    • This apprenticeship is primarily delivered in the workplace with the attendance at seminars within College for specialist modules to enhance skills development and to share experiences with other apprentices.
    • The delivery team are vocationally expert and are able to share their knowledge and experience of excellent customer service practice. 
    • The apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a dedicated Instructor/Trainer.  The Instructor/Trainer will liaise with the employer to ensure that the progress of the apprenticeship is maintained.  In addition, the apprentice will utilise the support tools within the electronic mapping and tracking tool that the College utilises.
    Intermediate Apprenticeship in Education Support (Level 2)

    This Apprenticeship is about providing support in the classroom. After all, teachers aren't the only ones who make a difference to learning in schools. Learning support staff, such as teaching assistants, play a vital role in today's classrooms by making sure students get the most out of their lessons.

    As an Apprentice, you'll work under the close supervision of a class teacher. Your duties will vary depending on how the teachers you work with plan their lessons and handle day-to-day classroom activities - however, you could find yourself supervising arts and crafts activities, helping with outings, or reading to the class.

    Intermediate Apprenticeship in Engineering (Level 2)
    • This apprenticeship is delivered initially within the College in one of the well-equipped workshops (usually on a day release basis) where the apprentice is able to access excellent resources to develop their practice.  Assessments of competence are completed within the employer’s premises.
    • The delivery team are vocationally expert and are able to share their knowledge and experience of excellent practice.  Further specialist training by external experts is incorporated into the delivery to ensure best practice.

    Intermediate Apprenticeship in Hairdressing (Level 2)

    This course is for you if you are looking for an introduction to working in the hairdressing industry. You will work in a salon and come to College to develop your skills.

    You will help with the running of salons by shampooing, conditioning, drying, cutting and colouring hair. You will learn how to deal with customers, so good communication skills are important. Promotion opportunities exist to become a senior stylist or salon manager.

    Intermediate Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care (Level 2)
    • This apprenticeship is primarily delivered in the workplace with the attendance at seminars within College for specialist modules to enhance skills development and to share experiences with other apprentices.
    • The delivery team are vocationally expert and are able to share their knowledge and experience of excellent practice. 
    • The apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a dedicated Instructor/Trainer.  The Instructor/Trainer will liaise with the employer to ensure that the progress of the apprenticeship is maintained.  In addition, the apprentice will utilise the support tools within the electronic mapping and tracking tool that the College utilises
    Intermediate Apprenticeship in Hospitality and Catering (Level 2)

    This Apprenticeship covers a range of occupations within hospitality and catering, one of the largest industries in the country. Hospitality and catering covers work in restaurants, hotels and holiday accommodation, pubs, and contract caterers.

    It also supplies other industries with food and drink. Schools, colleges, hospitals and large businesses nearly always have canteens and catering staff too.

    Intermediate Apprenticeship in Libraries, Archives, Records and Management (Level 2)

    This Apprenticeship aims to provide a basis for the development of a range of transferable skills and to address skills gaps in the Libraries, Archives, Records and Information Management Sector. It aims to widen entry routes into and progression routes through the sector and support a more diverse workforce which reflects the communities served by the sector.

    Intermediate Apprenticeship in Sales (Level 2)

    Selling is the lifeblood of most organisations. If unable to sell their products or services, companies can easily go out of business. They therefore make sure they recruit promising trainees, give them the best opportunities and hold their good sales people in high esteem.

    As an Apprentice you could find yourself working in a range of sectors, for example, a sales advisor in a retail store environment, or a membership advisor in a health and fitness club.

    Intermediate Apprenticeship in Team Leading (Level 2)

    This Apprenticeship package is ideal for new or aspiring team leaders.You will gain valuable applied workplace learning through completion of the Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Team leading, plus theory and knowledge with the VRQ Certificate in Team Leading.

    Intermediate Apprenticeship in Warehouse Storage & Logistics (Level 2)
    • This apprenticeship is primarily delivered in the workplace with the attendance at seminars within College for specialist modules to enhance skills development and to share experiences with other apprentices.
    • The delivery team are vocationally expert and are able to share their knowledge and experience of excellent practice.  
    • The apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a dedicated Instructor/Trainer.  The Instructor/Trainer will liaise with the employer to ensure that the progress of the apprenticeship is maintained.  In addition, the apprentice will utilise the support tools within the electronic mapping and tracking tool that the College utilises.
  • Level 3
    Advanced Apprenticeship AAT in Accounting (Level 3)
    • This apprenticeship is delivered predominantly within a classroom environment (usually on a day release basis) where the apprentice is able to access excellent resources to develop their practice. 
    • The delivery team are vocationally expert and are able to share their knowledge and experience of excellent accountancy practice.

    Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration (Level 3)

    This Apprenticeship programme is designed for more experienced staff to provide progression and re-skilling routes for existing Administrators. Apprentices can work in areas such as:

    Advanced Apprenticeship in Children and Young People's Social Care (Level 3)

    Now is a great time to think about becoming an Apprentice. There are more opportunities than ever before for those looking to work with children and young people, and Apprenticeships in this area can lead to secure employment upon completion. This Apprenticeship gives people a fulfilling opportunity to work with children and young people while also gaining an understanding into the 'hows' and 'whys' of their development. Equally, it ensures candidates put childcare theory into practice.

    Advanced Apprenticeship in Customer Service (Level 3)
    • This apprenticeship is primarily delivered in the workplace with the attendance at seminars within College for specialist modules to enhance skills development and to share experiences with other apprentices.
    • The delivery team are vocationally expert and are able to share their knowledge and experience of excellent customer service practice. 
    • The apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a dedicated Instructor/Trainer.  The Instructor/Trainer will liaise with the employer to ensure that the progress of the apprenticeship is maintained.  In addition, the apprentice will utilise the support tools within the electronic mapping and tracking tool that the College utilises
    Advanced Apprenticeship in Education Support (Level 3)

    This Apprenticeship is about providing support in the classroom. After all, teachers aren't the only ones who make a difference to learning in schools.     The Advanced Level Apprenticeship adds more responsibility to the role. You could help plan, carry out and evaluate a wide range of learning activities. You'll work both alongside the teacher to support classroom activities, and alone with individuals or groups of students.

    Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering (Level 3)
    • This apprenticeship is delivered predominantly within a classroom environment (either as day or block release) where the apprentice is able to access excellent resources to develop their practice.  Assessments of competence are completed within the employer’s premises.
    • The delivery team are vocationally expert and are able to share their knowledge and experience of excellent practice. 
    • The apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a dedicated Instructor/Trainer.  The Instructor/Trainer will liaise with the employer to ensure that the progress of the apprenticeship is maintained.  In addition, the apprentice will utilise the support tools within the electronic mapping and tracking tool that the College utilises
    Advanced Apprenticeship in Hairdressing (Level 3)

    Advanced Apprenticeship in Hospitality and Catering (Level 3)

    The Level 3 Apprenticeship will broaden your existing knowledge and help you gain important leadership and management skills to allow you to take on more responsibility.

    There are two pathways available for the Advanced Apprenticeship in Hospitality and Catering. You can choose between the Diploma in Professional Cookery or the Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership.

    Advanced Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web & Telecoms Professionals (Level 3)
    • This apprenticeship is delivered predominantly within a classroom environment (usually on a day release basis) where the apprentice is able to access excellent resources to develop their practice.  Assessments of competence are completed within the employer’s premises.
    • The delivery team are vocationally expert and are able to share their knowledge and experience of excellent practice. 
    • The apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a dedicated Instructor/Trainer.  The Instructor/Trainer will liaise with the employer to ensure that the progress of the apprenticeship is maintained.  In addition, the apprentice will utilise the support tools within the electronic mapping and tracking tool that the College utilises

     

    Advanced Apprenticeship in Laboratory Technician (Level 3)
    • This apprenticeship is delivered predominantly within a Laboratory environment within the College (usually on a day release basis) where the apprentice is able to access excellent resources to develop their practice.  Assessments of competence are completed within the employer’s premises.
    • The delivery team are vocationally expert and are able to share their knowledge and experience of excellent practice. 
    • The apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a dedicated Instructor/Trainer.  The Instructor/Trainer will liaise with the employer to ensure that the progress of the apprenticeship is maintained.  In addition, the apprentice will utilise the support tools within the electronic mapping and tracking tool that the College utilises

     

    Advanced Apprenticeship in Management (Level 3)

    The Advanced Level Management Apprenticeship will develop your management and leadership skills and could include planning, allocating and monitoring work of a team, supporting team members, managing conflict, resolving problems, project management, agreeing budgets and managing customer service.

    Advanced Apprenticeship in Sales (Level 3)

    Higher Apprenticeship in Space Engineering

    The UK Space Agency has identified a lack of graduates entering the Space Engineering industry, and a lack of specific practical skills in entry level employees. The Higher Apprenticeship in Space Engineering aims to change this by providing apprentices with this specific knowledge and practical skills that Space Engineering employer's desire.

  • Level 5
    Higher Apprenticeship in Care Leadership and Management (Level 5)

    This Apprenticeship is designed to improve the knowledge and skills of those who work in a deputy manager or manager role in a health and social care setting. This qualification is fundable for those whose highest qualification is Level 3 or 4 or equivalent.
