A-level results ensure Loughborough College student is first in family to go to university

Loughborough College student Natasha Groocock will be the first person in her family to go to university after her A-level results secured her a place to study Law at Nottingham Trent University.

Natasha maintained her studies alongside her Dad’s cancer diagnosis and treatment and it was Dad Andy who was charged with opening her envelope at the College to reveal BBC in Law, Sociology and Psychology.

“I am so happy with my results. Going to Loughborough College was the best move I ever made. I have loved it. The teachers have been so good – my Law teacher Corinne has been amazing. The lessons have been so interesting and have played a big part in my decision to study Law at university.

“It’s been a very difficult time with my Dad being treated for cancer but I am trying not to look back. Finally he is on the mend and it is nice to put it all behind us.”

Mum Val agreed with Natasha that Loughborough College had been “absolutely amazing, really supportive.” And Andy paid tribute to his daughter. “She worked really hard. When she wants something she will strive and she will get it. I am over the moon.”
