Businesses across the region have praised the boost offered by new in house training from Loughborough College.

Working directly with a range of small and medium-sized companies as well as with organisations to identify their needs, the College is creating and delivering targeted support designed to enhance staff skills and aid productivity.

“Businesses have a range of needs and the College meets these with around 15 professional qualifications in areas including finance, marketing, leadership and management and business coaching – but they’re seeing that they can also gain very real benefit from this brand new training,” says Vicky Elston, who works with the Professional Qualifications team at Loughborough College.

“I go out to companies and work with their staff for a full day or half a day over a few weeks, delivering a programme which has been specifically designed for their needs and the results are outstanding – so much so that the College is being asked to return again and again and develop new and different programmes as they’re needed.”

Following training delivered by Vicky over several months at Leicestershire’s EHL Group, covering areas including time management, delegation, how individuals learn and how to enable others to fulfil their potential, the company’s Wendy Gray said they would not hesitate in recommending it to other organisations: “Vicky is passionate, professional and it was a pleasure to welcome her to our office.

“The feedback from all delegates has been extremely positive and all came out of the sessions feeling empowered and telling others about the training. We would relish the opportunity for Vicky to come back again and deliver more training to us…. please!”

Wellcomm Communications has received training from Loughborough College in areas including customer service, sales, finance and costs and budgets, personal development, coaching, influencing and time management, “to name but a few!” says Kate Fogg.

“We have run predominantly personal development modules and these have been bespoked for our needs and run in bite-sized 1.5 hour sessions - short, sharp and to the point.

“Our people have given great feedback about the courses and we have seen some great examples of the training being put into practice immediately. I would highly recommend the college and our trainer Vicky Elston who is very talented as a facilitator and professional to the core.”

‘Over the last few years we have seen an increase in the demand for commercially non-accredited courses, made bespoke to meet local business needs and Loughborough College has been able to adapt and deliver high level training into these workplaces,” said Daniel Apparicio, Professional Qualifications lead at Loughborough College.

“Drawing on our wealth of industry experience and understanding of excellence in training practice we are now offering even more choice to businesses, currently focusing on Leadership and Management, Business Coaching and Digital Marketing,”
