Two Loughborough College students are set to represent England in the Netball Europe U17 Championship.

Bethan Lount and Georgie Brock-Taylor were selected for the England U17 squad alongside 10 other athletes and will face off against Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Switzerland in a bid to win gold at the tournament in March.

England won the previous edition of the tournament in 2019, completing a clean sweep en route to the trophy.

Georgina Brock-Taylor was selected for the Roses Academy for the first time in 2019 at the age of 15.

The mid-courter currently plays her netball for Loughborough Lightning and has already made appearances for their U19 side at the NPL Tournament in 2019.

Bethan Lount is also emerging as a talented prospect in the ranks of Loughborough Lightning, enjoying her most prosperous year in 2019.

Lount was selected to represent Lightning at the NPL Tournament and, for her club Charnwood Rutland Warriors, won bronze at National Clubs U16s.

The England squad will be led by Head Coach Victoria Burgess and Assistant Coach Sheonagh Forbes.

Burgess said: “Netball Europe is a fantastic competition for the girls selected to gain exposure and understand what it is like to represent your country.

“We have an exciting group of athletes selected and I look forward to seeing our young Roses develop and perform at the competition.”
