Pamper-packed days were back by popular demand at Loughborough College’s Radmoor Centre with the return of the Health Spa Week.
Following its successful launch in the autumn, the winter Week had another hit on its hands with clients once again full of praise for the professional service offered by students providing a range of beauty and hair treatments, not to mention breakfast and lunch at the Radmoor Restaurant.
“Our beauty therapy students welcomed clients with breakfast before treating them to an indulgent morning of full body massage and an electronic facial in our training salon. They then accompanied them to the restaurant to enjoy their lunch, provided by our hospitality and catering students.
“The afternoon saw clients return to the salon to be treated to manicures and pedicures before finishing the day with a wash and blow dry from our hairdressing students,” said Claire Springthorpe, Beauty and Sports Massage programme lead at Loughborough College.
“We had 24 clients during the winter Spa Week and every one of them was thrilled with the relaxed atmosphere and high standard of their treatment, with some commenting it was better than any commercial salon or spa they had ever been to.
“It was wonderful for our students to receive such positive feedback and was of course an excellent opportunity for them to gain an insight into working in the industry, as well as to be practically assessed for their courses – which was reflected in the distinction grades achieved.
“We’re very excited to welcome clients to our next Health Spa Week in spring.”
