High profile chef takeover set for Loughborough College Radmoor Restaurant

Loughborough College students are set to share a kitchen with top chef Mark Poynton for the latest sell-out takeover at the Radmoor Restaurant.

Former Chef Patron at the Michelin-starred Alimentum, named as one of the Top 100 UK Restaurants, Mark was also Head Chef at the two Michelin-starred Midsummer House and has previously been shortlisted by the Craft Guild of Chefs for the Restaurant Chef of the Year award.

Hospitality and Catering students at Loughborough College will benefit from the talent and expertise of current MJP Restaurant Chef Patron Mark as they assist him in putting together his menu of roasted cheese and onion veloute, seaweed cured salmon with buttermilk and caviar sauce and a seaweed crisp, slow roast duck leg and pistachio pastillia, sweet potato and pomelo sauce and dark chocolate brownie and mousse with blood orange jelly and sorbet.

Recently invited to judge the Master Chefs of Great Britain Young Pastry Chef of the Year, Mark has worked with hundreds of students and lecturers across the country for almost a decade alongside A Passion to Inspire, helping to raise more than £200, 000 for charities including the NSPCC and Teenage Cancer Trust.

Loughborough College Hospitality and Catering lead and chef lecturer Darren Creed added: “Having worked, with our students, alongside Mark on Passion to Inspire charity events, it will be fantastic to welcome him to the College and to our Radmoor Restaurant.

“Mark’s all-round dedication to the industry and to inspiring the next generation of chefs coming through is second to none. It promises to be a great event.”
