Chief Executive John Doherty has been enjoying the chance to offer hundreds of people a first hand welcome to Loughborough College as part of National Apprenticeship Week 2018.
A host of executives and governors have been gaining experience of apprenticeships throughout the week at the College - which was recently awarded 'Outstanding' for its apprenticeships by education watchdog Ofsted - and John joined the reception team for an insight into the business administration and customer service work they do on the College’s frontline.
“Carol, Cathy and our apprentice Megan helped me get to grips with the huge range of tasks they routinely face in their extremely important role as first point of contact at Loughborough College,” said John.
“The team were fantastic at sharing their experience and giving me a glimpse of their work by letting me help them greet visitors, staff and students with an all-important smile, to issue passes and to offer a friendly and helpful response to our large numbers of callers.
“Megan is thoroughly enjoying her apprenticeship and the skills she is gaining. There is no doubt that as part of the reception team she is in incredibly capable hands.”
