Loughborough College set for phased return to campus

Loughborough College is preparing for a phased return, following the latest Government briefing on Sunday.

The College is working closely with its Board and recognised unions to reopen its campus to a limited number of students for essential classes from 15 June, at the earliest.

A number of Loughborough College staff in relevant curriculum areas will return prior to this date to finalise the arrangements to support vulnerable learners and the small groups of students who will benefit from attending to progress in their courses and, where predicted grades are not available, to take exams and complete practical assessments.

Students who would benefit from this support are being contacted in advance and will undertake a safety briefing before their return. The remainder will continue to learn remotely until the end of this academic year. Staff not required, or able, to come in will also continue to work from home.

Loughborough College is working diligently to ensure it is rigorously adhering to all Government safety guidance to achieve a ‘Covid-Secure’ campus. A copy of the risk assessment will be publicly available before any students return.
