Loughborough College student Alice Hayden admits her day did not start well – but receiving her A-level results soon changed that.
Alice, who is visually impaired, arrived with dog Star to collect that all-important envelope and was thrilled to discover she had been awarded an A in Psychology.
“I woke this morning with this horrible gut feeling that I hadn’t achieved the grade I had been predicted and although I knew how hard I had worked, by the time I arrived at the College I was convinced it was going to be bad news – then I discovered I had an A and started crying with relief.
“If someone had told me a year ago that I would achieve an A grade in Psychology A-level I would not have believed it. Loughborough College has been incredible with their support – the fact that they adapted all the resources for me so I could study alongside everyone else was only one of the amazing things they did. I am really looking forward to returning in September for my second year of Biology and English A-levels.
“I hope eventually to study Psychology at university and getting that top grade today has really spurred me on.”
