Loughborough College students set to share creative talents

Town art lovers are in for a treat as Loughborough College students prepare to showcase their creative talents at a forthcoming exhibition.

Something Wicked This Way comes will highlight more than 100 pieces of work including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, illustration, graphics and sculpture.

Zoe Hadjinkikolaou is a second year art and design student who will be exhibiting. “I have really enjoyed my time with Loughborough College – you get great one to one time to really understand everything and the chance to explore and find out what interests you. I started out intending to focus on fine art but I’ve discovered a love for graphics and photography. I’ve got a few university offers to study graphic illustration and hope to go into computer-based design as a career. I am really looking forward to displaying my work and being able to talk to people about it.”

Glen Quayle has also enjoyed the chance to work in a variety of areas during his art and design course with the College. “It’s not just drawing and painting – and it’s been great to have so much flexibility, to try out such a range of things and discover what is exciting to you. I’m hoping to study fine art at university but meanwhile it will be great to see some of the work I have produced come out of my sketchbook – and see how people react to it!”

Loughborough College art lecturer Gary Stefanetti added: ““This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to showcase the range of skills they are exploring on their course. It’s a chance for them to be recognised by their colleagues and for an audience outside the College to be inspired by the amazing talent which will be on display.”

Something Wicked This Way Comes runs from 3 to 7 February and will be open to the public on Monday 3 February between 4.00 and 6.00pm at Loughborough College, Radmoor Road, Loughborough, LE11 3BT
