New International partnership expands global education role for Loughborough College

A new international partnership is continuing to expand Loughborough College’s role in global education.

Backed by the British Council-funded International Skills Partnership, the College took its expertise to Vietnam to launch a long-term project to develop high quality teaching and learning.

Loughborough College is taking the lead in working with a consortium of Vietnamese colleges and Director of Business Development at Loughborough College Gemma Knott and Senior International Manager Ula Wang visited the General Department of Vocational Training in Hanoi, together with the colleges, earlier this month to set out plans for the partnership.

“We feel we have a responsibility to use our expertise in the UK to benefit the education systems of other countries and that it is vital for us to operate as a global college. So we are very excited to be working on this highly rewarding long-term project,” said Gemma Knott.

“We will be delivering consultancy and training to three Vietnamese colleges, helping them introduce new strategies which will boost the quality of their teaching and learning.

“Loughborough College will also be hosting our Vietnamese partners in the UK this autumn in order to deliver further training.”

Colleges visited included Vinh Phuc College, near Hanoi and Yen Bai Vocational College, in the Northern Mountainous Province of Vietnam. “We met more than 20 senior and executive members of Yen Bai college, to discuss the support we will be providing,” added Ula Wang.

“This young and very ambitious college showed us great hospitality and we are looking forward to building a long and fruitful strategic relationship with them.”
