Rio 2016: Loughborough College’s Olivia Breen positive for long jump at Paralympics

Loughborough College athlete Olivia Breen says she is looking forward to competing in today’s long jump final in Rio.

The 20 year old Sport student, who is appearing in her second Paralympic Games, says she is confident of picking up a medal in the event.

Olivia crossed the line in a time of 13.41 in Friday’s 100m T38 final to finish in seventh place – with teammate and fellow College student Sophie Hahn winning gold.

"I had a good start and then I'm just happy I got the final if I can find a positive. I ran better I thought," she said after the race.

"Talking about the positive, I'm really looking forward to the long jump.

“That will be really good. I have a really good chance, so fingers crossed and we'll see what happens."

Olivia could also be involved in the women's 4x100m relay final later this week.
