A leading name in global business has been inspiring Loughborough College students with his tips for success.

Dave Wright arrived on campus to share his insider knowledge as CEO and creator of physical activity heart rate monitoring system MYZONE®, former board director of UK fitness industry association UK Active and head of an empire including fitness clubs and a marketing company spanning North America, Australia and the UK.

A packed audience of more than 120 A-level and BTEC Business students heard about Wright’s first steps on his ladder to the top and what the good and not so good along the way have taught him.

“Dave captivated our learners for two hours with a fascinating and incredibly motivating talk which looked at the crucial strategies he had used to identify and develop opportunities and to limit risk but also, crucially, to negotiate the inevitable difficulties which arise.

“His messages of being fully committed and effective, of ensuring people and not money are your motivator and how it is important to never stop learning were all incredibly valuable,” said Chris Price, a business course leader at Loughborough College.

“We are very grateful to Dave for sharing his insight with our students – they’ve been talking about it ever since.

“Our programme of introducting our students to high-calibre industry figures is fantastic for their learning, offering them the chance to understand first hand what it takes to achieve success in business – and in life.”
