Top hairdressing skills go live at Loughborough College

An exciting end of year show saw Loughborough College students go live with their hairdressing skills.

With stylists and models including a national prize winner, thirty looks developed against the clock delighted audiences.

Fantasy, avant garde and environmental themes sparked creations inspired by Medusa, The Joker and Avatar and reflected special occasions from proms to pregnancy.

Association of Hairdressers and Therapists 2019 medal winner and Loughborough College student Holiie Guest turned model for the show, emerging as the Queen of Hearts.

“We had 30 very nervous students backstage. Knowing they would have to deliver their looks in a tight timeframe for the gathered audience meant there was nowhere to hide - but they all thoroughly enjoyed it,” said Loughborough College hairdressing lead Karen Dixon.

“The students were able to really show off a variety of hairdressing skills and techniques and enhance their creations with costume, props and body painting. They put on a fantastic show and the audience loved it. They really did themselves and the College proud.”
