Job Description
Location: Onsite at Rothley Primary school
Hours: Full time – over 4 days, Monday - Thursday
Salary: Subject to Qualifications and experience
About the Role
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Preschool & Out of School Practitioner to join our team. You will play a key role in providing a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children aged 2-11 years, supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing both during preschool sessions and out-of-school provision (before/after school and holiday clubs).
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver fun, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
- Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development
- Ensure a safe, secure, and inclusive environment for all children
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Assist with daily routines, including snack times, hygiene, and transitions
- Observe, assess, and record children’s progress
- Follow safeguarding procedures and promote child welfare at all times
- Contribute to a welcoming and stimulating setting
Requirements
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (or willingness to work towards)
- Previous experience working with children in a preschool or out-of-school setting (desirable)
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A positive, proactive, and flexible approach
- Enhanced DBS check
