About the 'ROLL'

As our Technical Support Manager, you will take ownership of the full NPD and EPD lifecycle, from concept through to launch, ensuring every product meets customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards. You’ll act as the technical authority for product specifications, artwork approval, packaging suitability, and chemical compliance, including adherence to Leaping Bunny accreditation.

You’ll work closely with Quality, Operations, Sales, and Group Technical teams to maintain seamless alignment across all product and documentation activities. Your insights will also shape our commercial strategy through structured competitor analysis and actionable reporting.

Previously known as Accrol Group and established in 1993, Navigator Tissue UK is the UK’s leading independent tissue converter, producing private label toilet roll, kitchen roll, facial tissue products and a range of wet wipes for many of the UK’s major grocery retailers. We currently have five manufacturing sites across the UK in Blackburn, Leyland, Leicester, Flint and Bridgwater. We are also in the process of moving manufacturing from Blackburn to Leyland, and from Flint and Bridgwater to Leicester.

Key Responsibilities

As Technical Support Manager you will:

·       Maintain product specifications, ensure accurate, compliant customer, chemical, and packaging specifications.

·       Approve artwork, validate artwork against technical, regulatory, and brand requirements.

·       Deliver competitor insights, produce analysis that informs product and commercial decisions.

·       Manage chemical compliance, oversee chemical specifications aligned with Leaping Bunny standards.

·       Oversee packaging compliance, ensure packaging suitability, consistency, and regulatory adherence.

·       Coordinate pre‑launch testing, lead product trials and packaging validation to ensure launch readiness.

·       Align with Quality teams, work closely with site and Group Quality to maintain technical continuity.

·       Support cosmetic PIFs, contribute to accurate, compliant Production Information Files.

·       Support site audits, maintain robust documentation and ensure audit compliance.

·       Validate metal detection, complete and approve metal detector checks for all new products.

·       Manage raw material documentation, maintain full traceability and regulatory compliance for all materials.

Skills and Qualifications required

Essential Requirements

·       GCSEs in English & Maths (Grade C / 4 or above).

·       Experience in a FMCG environment and working with chemicals.

·       Background in a highly regulated industry.

·       Knowledge of BRC Non‑Food Standards and cosmetic regulations.

·       Awareness of ethical accreditations such as Leaping Bunny.

·       Strong attention to detail, problem solving ability, and a professional, team focused approach.

·       Effective communication skills with the ability to work across all levels.

·       Flexible, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement.

·       Self‑starter with a passion for high quality output and customer satisfaction.

·       Audit qualification advantageous.

Hours per week

37 per week, Monday to Friday
