Helping you to build upon your knowledge of the curriculum, our courses allow you to explore educational issues, new innovations and up-to-date teaching and learning theories with the aim of applying the main principles to your own subject area.
Our programmes emphasise the importance of work-based experience and you will have the opportunity to network with other established practitioners in order to gain a first hand perspective of the teaching profession.
- +Award in Education and Training
This award has been designed as an introductory qualification for people aiming to teach, tutor or train in the Further Education Lifelong Learning Sector. This includes those wishing to work in adult and community learning, work-based learning, as well as teach in Further Education colleges.
Candidates do not need to have any teaching hours at this stage to achieve this qualification.Read More
- +Diploma in Education and Training
The Diploma in Education and Teaching is aimed at full and part-time teachers who hold a full teaching role which involves planning, preparing materials, assessing, supporting students and teaching a variety of subjects and/or levels. Individuals working in the post-16 sector and 14-plus school link programmes are also welcome to apply.
This course runs over a two year period however, you can also receive credit and recognition for the teaching qualifications that you already have. You may also be able to progress straight onto the second year of this exciting course.Read More

Aspiring teacher, lecturer and researcher Claire Bayley started her promising career studying a PTLLS qualification (Award in Education and Training Level 3) and thanks the course for enabling her to gain an insight into the teaching profession.
Studying the GDTLLS (Graduate Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector) whilst teaching Sport, Exercise and Fitness, Lyndsey Welch learned how to put theory into practice with the support provided by her teacher training programme.
