Women's Football Academy

Loughborough College Sport Women's Football Academy is one of the leading FE college programmes in the country and have previously been crowned AoC Regional champions and made national finals.

We have a fantastic relationship with Leicester City Football Club and Loughborough Lightning.

The Training

Loughborough College Sport Women's Football Academy have two team training sessions.

Players also have access to drop in strength & conditioning sessions in our strength and conditioning suite by qualified strength & conditioning coaches and performance analysis support to take your game to the next level.

Selected players will also have a video analysis session once a week.

There are also various workshops that happen throughout the year on nutrition, psychology, anti-doping and athletes lifestyle.

Application Process

  1. Attend an Open Day.
  2. Apply for your course (online or at the Open Day).
  3. Attend an applicant event for your programme of study.
  4. Once you have a place at Loughborough College on your chosen programme of study, you will be sent an email about which Sports Academy you are interested in joining which will include a form you must complete.
  5. Apply for Accommodation if needed.
  6. Attend the Pre Programme Day for your programme of study (June).
  7. Attend the Pre Programme Day for the Sport Academies (July).
  8. Enroll on to your programme of study (August).
  9. You will be invited to the training sessions for the first 2-4 weeks and squad selections will happen then (September).
