Partners & Programmes

This programme is for individual elite performers that have a heavy training and competition programme.

The BTEC online programme comes in two models – full or partial distance learning. Designed for performers who train and compete away from Loughborough College main campus.

Performers are allocated with a personal tutor, who have experience of competing/working within elite sport, who they engage with on a weekly basis for tutorials and taught sessions. This is done online and facilitated through use of technology and online platforms for materials/resources.

The model also enables performers to come into Loughborough College for face to face or intensive study periods outside of their training and competition schedule.

Learners can choose different course sizes to meet their future progression needs.

This qualification is intended for those learners who are training or affiliated to a National Governing Body or have contractual links with a professional sports body. The learner must be involved in regular organised competitive sport with the intended purpose of progression into employment as an elite performer or in elite performance.

You will be able to fulfil your training and competition commitments as well as completing an education programme in a truly bespoke way. The underpinning knowledge and skills acquired through the course will help you understand what it takes to become an elite performer.

Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English Language and Maths. Mature students will be considered based on their previous qualifications and/or relevant work experience.

Upon successful completion of the Level 3 Extended Diploma Sport qualification, you will have the equivalent of three A Levels, providing opportunities for progression into:

Employment in elite performance or as an elite performer
American Scholarships
Higher Education course or another vocational qualification at Loughborough College or elsewhere.
