It has taken a lot of hard work and dedication to complete the course. I have completed work in the evenings around training and work. I’ve had to make sure throughout the course that the lectures are being watched as well as getting the assessments done.

The degree has allowed me apply my research findings and knowledge gained through lectures into my lessons with students. My students are benefitting from a better experience, which has improved my confidence in delivering higher quality lessons.

In the future I am going to be completing a School-centred initial teacher training (SCITT) course to become a PE teacher in my local area working with 4-19 year olds.

BSc (hons) Sport and Exercise Science Top Up Student

I have been competing competitively in powerlifting for approximately 3 years. I was fortunate to finally achieve my dream and became the 2023 IPL Drug tested world champion for the under 100kg men's open category. Not only was it a childhood dream to officially be crowned one of the strongest people in the world. I had also managed to achieve this huge feat whilst studying with Loughborough College and also in full time employment.

I am grateful for all of the support provided by the college and the allowances made available for athletes which has allowed me to manage my studies, employment and Powerlifting commitments.
