Role overview
This Level 3 Plate Welder Apprenticeship provides specialist training in structural steel, marine, and heavy manufacturing environments. Delivered on a block-release basis, it equips learners with industry-standard welding techniques, including MIG/MAG processes, to meet the strict quality demands of sectors like construction, shipbuilding, and defence fabrication.
Entry requirements
- GCSE Grade 9-5 in Maths and English (certificates required for exemption)
- Employment in a relevant welding/fabrication role with a contract

- Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard in Plate Welder
- Subsidiary Diploma in Engineering Technologies – Welding and Fabrication Pathway
